Errit Kayak Club’s Darkness into Light paddle was a huge success which has raised €860 so far for Pieta House. We are so overwhelmed by the support received for our event both through donations and people coming out to paddle with us this on the morning.
It was a foggy but calm, dry and mild morning and although the fog meant we couldn’t see the sunrise while we were paddling, it only enhanced the atmosphere as we made our way around the shore of Errit Lake. The daylight gradually filtering through at dawn had its own sense of magic that will not be forgotten in a hurry and the visibility cleared enough at the very end for us to see from the shore a watery sun shining through the mist on the horizon.
What a truly memorable experience in aid of a charity whose work is so vitally important for people in crisis and their loved ones. We are already looking forward to next year!
